Anyone run this system on the water with the 4PL?? I currently have a 3pmx and love the radios performance, but the cost of the recievers got me... Wish they would come out with some cheaper 2 ch recievers for some of my other applications... I just dont have the cash to buy 5 70 dollar recievers and on top of it have a radio with a small screen.. The 4PL on the other hand has 8 different reciever options and one is a 3 channel 40 dollar reciever!!! Not to mention the large screen will be much easier to use and setup... Anyways thats my rant.... Looking for input...

Thanks, Kevin.....

I dont know but thats a nice economical 2.4 4ch futaba system. Thanks for turning me on to it.

I've got the Futaba PL's in 2, 3 and 4-channels, all work fine on the water. The owners manual is a bit scary as there's 100+ pages to it but most of it deals with things we won't use in boats, i.e., brakes and 4-wheel steering.

Good to hear! Yes I already read the manual online to a extent the only part that confuses me is the speed and mode for the recievers.. Other wise I'm the guy that never picks up the manual and just figures it out by playing with it!!!

Yes at 250 for the radio and recievers as low as 40 thats not bad at all! especially for the menu screen size!!! In the end run I will only save 50 dollars over my 3PMX after buying all the recievers, but the screen and menu have to be worth it plus you can have 4 channels if needed!!

I picked mine up almost a year ago for $230.00 at a swap meet. You will be reading the manual trying to figure out how to dial everything in. I've gotten to the point to where the manuals get thrown into the trailer for those just in case times at the lake.

Hopefully when the time comes the Tower 50 off coupon will be available!!! Tower will get a lot of my money this spring:(

Used one all last year, converted 6 boats over to the 4PL, works great, easy to use and set up, I paid 50.00 ea for additional receivers at the time, I am happy.
Which receiver are you using Joe?

On another note,,, what is your fuel capacity in you sport-20
Rick, I use the R2104GF,S-FHSS, I added the longer antenna because most of my radio box locations. I also paid 250.00 for the transmitter and 1 receiver.

I sold mt Sport 21, but I had 2, 6 oz tanks (12 total), which was more than enough.

Thanks Joe,,,

Can you expound on the "adding longer antenna"

Something aftermarket? Or just a longer ant. wire

We gonna see you in C-Town for the Nat's?

Found this while searching:

Futaba FHSS and S-FHSS systems are also compatible with models that display the FTR (Futaba Transmitter-Ready) symbol. It means that the model's factory-installed receiver is FHSS-compatible and can be linked and used with an FHSS transmitter you already own.

Rick,

Because of my radio box locations and antenna exit, I purchased a longer antenna (cable) from Futaba to get out of the box, I am a bit nervous about only having an inch or 2 exposed outside, so I went with the extension. (sounds weird).

Cant do the Nats this year, have a daughter getting married in August, time and money are gone for xtra trips, but will be in C town for the Fall Nats.

Chris Rupley sells antenna lengthening kits for the FASST RX's but I don't know if they'll work on the PL RX's. You can find his contact info through the IMPBA site.

I've been mounting my RX's on the radio box lids lately to get the most of the antenna out of the box. I know that some people just leave them lay in their boxes but I'd rather play it a little safer.
