Guys,

Anyone have any pics of the Fusion Welding Aluminum rigger? I remember these from the annual RC Car Action buyers guide back when boats and cars were in the same sellers guide. I never got the chance to see one in person anyone have any pics?

TG

No pix but I remember the guy was from the NY area, came to Flint a couple times in the 90's.

Broke the IMPBA F record at just over 90 mph IIRC...

I still have one. I use to race it back in the 90,s. Boat ran real well with a OS71 in it. Ken Stang

Ken, was that the one with yellow sponsons that had "Moon" or something on it? I remember that thing....cool stuff.

Can anyone post the picture here, I don't have an account on that forum and never seen an aluminum rigger before.

With little mods can suit a Fe combo.I remember a guy that tried a brushed motor(Astroflight) at that time with good speed.Gill

Hey, was that you that built them and visited us in Flint?
hi terry, remember checking the hydro 90 in the motel room? I'm working on getting my hands on a video of those record passes. steeve reesor filmed the runs. remember my last right to left pass? put 60% in it and couldnt line it up (it was a bunch faster ) I had rudder linked to a pivoting turn fin which stayed down in turns and up in straights. knew I was off course, but had no fin! terry, you remember what happened next!

I thought it was you! It's all coming back to me, think you got the record just over 90 mph, right? Wasn't it the fastest in IMPBA at the time? What year was that? Very innovative idea linking the fin with the rudder!

Yes! Pinkert's Point!

Hi terry, yes, it was early 90's, maybe 1991 or 92. memories. I believe the boat came up on shore and hit a tree stump. Is there a stump on land to the left of Pinckerts Point? made a hell of a sound. Pictures of some aluminum riggers to be posted on this thread soon . one of them is the battered record boat hull. still trying to aquire record passes on video. nice to talk to you after all this time. if you can remember, can you confirm that the picco hydro 90 was un-modified except for aero-marine drum rotor? I remember you tore it down in the motel room and was surprised it was stock. again, nice talking with you, terry. regards, john

Hey John,

Here are the pics as promised. A is Ken Stang's boat w/red sponsons. B&C are John's Picco 90 powered new boat, and if you look at the right hand edge of the work bench you'll see the battered record boat. CHEERS !!! Bob
