i run about 10oz in my 21 rigger with novarossi,

and it is on the edge, if i run it alittle to rich it will not finsih the race,

p.s 3-1/4lbs thats good, i'm in the process of building a new one as my current one ways 4-lbs,

3 lb 6 oz blackbird 10.8oz tank if i go in @ 2:00 or 1:45 i have enough for 1 more or so

that is with a nova motor

For those of you that are running the Zoom carb, it usually takes one to two more ounces to finish the heat. You have to feed the horses well to make them run.

I am running a NR .21 with a Zoom carb and run 8oz, I will never try starting before 2min and so far have never not had enough fuel.

The formula that i use is HxWxL/1.8= oz

yours would be 7.65625 ozs

marty is that gonna be a saw tank ? that sounds really small for a heat tank ..mine in my blackbird is 10.8 oz and it is light when it gets back..just some thought.

How much do you usually recommend for a 20 hydro? Not sure what I have now for the current boat, but I bet that you know.

I have 8.5 oz in my 20 RR Extreme, NR engine and have about 1-1.5 oz left after a race. If you can get to 8.5 oz capacity you should be fine for heat racing. Especially with a NR but if you are running the MAC 21 like you did last Oct you will need the extra fuel capacity.

Looks like the MAX that I can get is 8.65 oz. We will see if that is enough....

Hello Paul, some of the guys that are running at or below heat racing record times with MAC/CMB 21's using Zoom carbs are using 12+ ozs per run.
