Mark i have never used the hayes can you tell me how much receiver wire you are supposed to cut off? I have fm receivers that were setup for the deans slimline and they don't make them any more so I just need to know this will work and not cause problems.

It is a 185 kit not the 183 kit. The wire length is 18" or less

according to the directions here.

Does it have the same bases for mounting as the 183 just for shorter antennas?

Jim,

The antenna whip is 12" long.

I believe the bases are all the same.

We use them on our S.A.W. boats with great results.
