What’s wrong with Zap ( CA ) and epoxy ?
All I’ve ever used…

Instead of Zap, you should try Star Bond CA glues. Zap will get brittle, Star Bond is a little more flexible and won’t come apart because of the vibrations from an engine running. I don’t use much CA anymore but Star Bond is some awesome stuff!!!

Stuff looks good.. I have and do use Tech-Bond https://tbbonding.com/ NOTE: you can glue Silicone using Tech-Bond... and by gully.. it really does it. LOL

But might give that a try too..

I guess I should have said CA and not zap specifically…
I use it for building airplanes and when I do frame up boats, everything gets coated with epoxy, and high stress areas get a little thin piece of glass cloth..

I've tried lots of stuff over the years and have settled on Devcon 14251 for structural and frame ups and West Systems 105/206 for sheeting/sealing.

One can use Devcon 14251 instead of G-Flex? That 10 minute cure would have saved hours in build time for my first boat. Nice to know.

The Devcon is awesome but you need to have everything ready to go because it sets fast. I typically pre-fit and stage everything, put on a new mixing tip and roll. When you're done leave the mixing tip on it and retract the gun plunger, keeps it sealed until next use then just put a new tip on. It has gotten a tad pricey at $25-$30 a cartridge (it was $11 a cartridge back when I first found it) plus the initial purchase of the cartridge gun and the mixing tips (I buy them in bulk) but to me it's worth it. With a shear strength of 2400 psi it's wicked strong.

System Three's T-88 Structural Epoxy is very tough to beat, albeit pricey....think we paid $35/pint....45 min cure time, waterproof and vibration resistant, structurally bonds all materials, oil, water, gasoline, and many other chemicals don't bother it once cured.
System Three's fumed silica will raise the viscosity if needed.
