Just an FYI for southwest Florida racers. We are staring a club and are working on sites. Have some commitment and should be up and running for the 2016 season. We will be IMPBA insured and the core so far is nitro outboards but we hope to include electrics if there is interest.

My thoughts would be a simple any motor 36X60 can limitation on 4s with a $100 claiming rule for a sport or starter class. These boats could co mingle in the .21 nitro classes. A full P (4S) allowed with .45s and 6S or Q in .60 or open ranks. This will depend on numbers and style of hull as I don't think we will see numbers for stand alone FE for a while. Again not written in stone but looking for a place to start and include new people.

Any input yay or nay appreciated.

Mic,

Any sites in mind? A couple of the electric guys have a very nice pond. Behind the Publix at burnt store and pine island road in cape coral.

Hey Ray,

I am aware of the site out by Publix. Not sure who owns the property and there are residences close enough that IC motors may not be welcome on a regular basis. Insurance is a big factor for our group and we are in the process of approvals and paperwork now. One temporary site is close to the Hammond field area not too far from the 6 mile site the gas guys run at. A bit smaller and will be a 1/4 mile size course to start.

I just received my HobbyKing Pursuit. It is extremely affordable and comes with hardware installed. I think I paid $186 for it. Perfect for this class.

Saw Jeff''s Pursuit today and was really impressed with the structure on the hull and the hardware package. At the pond we always get people looking for a simple inexpensive set up to start out with. This boat comes with a 36X60 1620kv motor that may work well to start on 4S and surely can be replaced with an 1800 to 2000kv motor 36mm diameter and 60mm or less in length. A simple two channel Fly Sky and a 120 amp hobbywing or Turnigy with a 4S or two 2S in series and your on the water with a charger under $400. A dad can get his kids racing with an easy handling boat that should stay upright. Good starter class for our club.

And yes Robert we are a tunnel focused group, but open for sensible options.

Hi a few of us do run FE boats behind Publix and are interested in club racing in Lee Co. We mostly run LSO, P-Mono, P-Hydro and Q. They let us run FE there but no gas...I may have an idea or two about a site.
