On Saturday, April 1, three 3S 20" "Kneeler" outboard hydroplanes raced at Centralia, Washington at the Lacey RC Hobbies Spring Regatta. Marty Knox, Bill Mowatt, and myself raced the WOF(wood over foam) model hydroplanes powered by Hobby King Formula 3, 3,000 kV outboard motors. A 30 second clock was used to start the race and the boats milled around the start/finish buoy till the start. Once the race started, the boats ran 1/2 laps around the left corner and the start/finish buoy. Each heat was scheduled for 6 laps, but often went past that because of the high "Fun Factor." After 4 heats, it was decided that we were all winners.

I probably built 7 or 9 for 3.5 engines.

The picture of the yellow boat looks like a lot of header length to me. I would think for an outboard hydro would be running a header a lot shorter than that. ?

These things sure are fun! Hope fully I will be able to figure out how to keep it from torquing over.
