Hello I have a .12 firefighter rigger and I need help in what type of rudder, strut, engine,

And prop to use I just got it yesterday.

Another thing my rigger does not have the rear 2 sponsons does it need it and if yes. Where can I get them. I'm pretty novice when it come to riggers trying to get into something new lol.

The solinger hardware is the best. Speedmaster stuff works but is a little overkill. You can also check for a cheap 75mm chineese rudder off ebay.

I doubt anyone will just have a set of rears lying about. You might have to build them. I don't think I ever ran mine without rears so I don't know how it will do. I'd try it and see.

Prather 215 is usually the best all around prop. A 1440 can be good. Also the V937 will give good top speed but it is not great for heat racing.

You might want to check if someone has some 20 hawk rears laying around also. They would work fine. Ill check my shop tomorrow to see if I have some rears laying around, I know I do....

Yes, they'll need to be sealed w/epoxy (apply with a card or anything that'll act like a squeegee, let dry and scrap to a smooth finish w/a razor blade)... good to go.

BTW Give credit where credit is due: Rod did Zach (crazycat or was it Rozyflash???) a favor, who in turn sent me an extra free pipe, asking me to help when I had the chance; then there is the motor work Rod did for free (and countless hrs answering my dumb questions), or the free fins TM from Terry Munn (tmunn),.... Larry Conrad, Glenn Q, Mike Hallam, Ron Z Jr, Martin Truex.... and list goes on. Alot of REALLY great people - so I dont deserve any recogition.... these guys have been helping for yrs!

While everyone's on the subject of ff.12's and hardware.... what is everyone using for fuel tanks? and if i went with metal how much would it cost?

thanks

Andrew Grenier
