mikey,is the blackbird a .45 size and how did it take to ruff water?

larry, what were some of the differences between the sg's and the sgx's?

john, thank you for your reply and yes the wing ding was a very cool boat!
. Sgx versus sg, on the sgx they spread the booms to hold more fuel, made the sponsons lower profile, changed the curve and angle on the nose of the hull, also, on some models he put the hull down hill lower in the front when the sg was level. I leveled my sgx and it is how I prefer to run it. These are the main differences.

Mine would be those all fiber glass Logghe riggers, I ran the 40 & Twin and the composite twin that was my design and Ron's building technique.

Thanks, John

Old thread but interesting.
My favorite boat was a one of two only built D hydro's by Frank. 12 events straight without a loss and I think 8 were perfect scores.
And it was a birthday present ☺️

I only ever had one rigger... A .21 Road Runner. Since I had never done anything with a rigger I had it built with the servos mounted. All the adjustments done. Cost a few pennies but, that was one impressive boat! Even painted my colors! I'll probably get another rigger some time. And for sure will be another Road Runner! Hands Down!!!

Avenger Cobra... I believe this was the last design of the avenger/spider line of riggers.
Plywood hull instead of the older cedar sided hulls. It is one tough boat..
Very predictable, a brawler...get in and mix it up in rough chopped up water...
I still have a .67 Cobra painted in my
"Killer Bee" paint scheme with a CMB greenhead with third channel....killer setup.

Get a good start, keep the inside line and its hard to beat.
May not be the fastest thing on the water, but at the end of 6,, it is usually there
And points are what matters...
