B)

Waiting on rifle season to open up November the 14th. Got the 300win mag ready to roll. Some 230 hpbt's loaded up and the bonfire pile is almost tall enough!
Hit em in the hams with that Zack and you may have enough left to make a pot of soup
& that's on florida deer, glenn!! i've owned dogs bigger than a lot of the deer in fla.  . i lived & hunted in n. fla., about 80 miles west of zach, i know how small they are ;) . there are some good deer down there, just few & far between. i use a 7mm rem. mag up here, & i'm still overgunned....i want a .270 , just about ideal for around here, imo B) .
Gave up on the belted mags long ago Robin-too destructive. The .270 is a fine round for up to Elk size critters as is the .308 and 30-06 my latest favorite- a custom made 260 Remington with a 140 Gr. lead pill. :)
glenn, the 2 biggest reasons i still use the 7 are that my son gave it to me & it's a tack driver. my best 3 shot group at 100 yds. is right at 3/4". thats with 150 gr. standard remington coreloc ammo. it also doesn't seem to care what i feed it. sight it in with the rem's, still holds the same zero with 140 gr. winchester silvertips. black synthetic stock, black action & barrel, **** good hunting rifle. shooting the 140 gr. ballistic tips doesn't tear up much meat, usually pass's right through on a chest shot, unless i hit a shoulder bone. then it's a mess......

That is just about enough picking on the deer here in Fl Robin. They are touchy about their size. :D   I have put two in the freezer and need about two more. Hunt all season with sticks. Zack, you know how I feel about cold weather. I think I should have been born around the equator some where.

My.270 Whereby with a chrome boar was my favorite when I lived in PA an hunted.

I called it the finger of GOD.

Would keep the old mercury switches off the JLG lifts and douche the barrel with it before I went out.

sighted in the 870 this afternoon... that is, I tried to. **** rear sight keeps shooting loose. just changed the clamp screw from a slot head to a socket head and put Loctite on it, so now it should stay put. A few days for my shoulder to recover and I'll try again. 3" Mag slugs get your attention.

Mark is where you get hit with four feet of snow just like that lived up that way nice but dont want to be there any more ;) at 9 thif morning here in west Palm Florida was 66 and got up to 80 no humidity nice weather to run in Robert

Robin if you figure a way to make the nats affordable let me know to expensive for my blood Robert
the actual race expenses are the same, local or away. the travel, lodging & food are the killer. about 1200+ miles 1 way for me, might have a travel partner, lodging is being worked on. if i can make it affordable, i will be there. haven't been back to fla. since 2001.

i'm trying to get together with a few folks on travel & lodging. get enough to split costs, & it becomes (or at least gets closer to) affordable. the "group rate" for lodging isn't my deal, i've just been invited, so i can't really help anyone else out :( .

regarding fall is here, on the 28th of oct we had gale force winds, my house took a hit...some damage (nothing beyond repair)

yep, worst storm in 34 years....

Out here in the northwest, we just hit freezing the beginning of the week. Actually had to scrape ice two mornings before going to work. Yesterday and today it I drove to work enduring temperatures in the 40s and scattered light sprinkles, perfect for boating. Too bad the wife has plans for me over the weekend, working on the house and yard :(
