Mikey I have the 2 - 6ft Trophys to bring back to the lake for the June Event! Maybe some Competition will show up in 2011? For those that are attending the 6ft traveling awards are F Mono & Nitro Twin hydro. Maybe mike can post some race info for the event! The BBQ Smoke & Nitro will be Rolling on the lake. Prepare your Equipment for This One...... B)

Awesome Joe shine them up,I have several guys wanting them :D

Mikey why the shoot out winner take all format I thought when you asked at the drivers meetings most guys wanted to run the points format another words most points wins

Rounds 1,2, & 3 in Shootout format, Round 4 is Top 6 Winner Take All Finals please Explain this to me im a bit confused ???

julian
You race for points round 123, IF you are in the top 6 you run the last heat. Top 6 in each class race the last heat for the trophies.

Last round only has one heat in each class to run. So dont screw up and dont take chances and get a dnf in the quailfiers you have to make the finals. Let it eat in the final.

Pete: I was thinking the same thing.

Julian: Phil is correct, but if only 6 boats show up for your class you only need to run in the last heat to win.

Also: It doesn’t seem fair that some D-14 series races 4 heats count for your point total, but at others only 3 will count. I think all D-14 point races should be run using the same format, where all your heats count toward your total. (Except for 1/8th Scale which has it’s own rules)

A few months back our club voted to continue this. We draw around 175 boats per event, this format saves time.

It also puts the best guys running that weekend together, over and over, Like Phil said, for three heats, dont take chances, finish the heat, and get into the top six, then show em whatcha got in the final heat.

Don, The whole race is ran like scale; 3 heats and a final. As far as District 14 points go we should just count the first 3 rounds. That would be fair to all D14 point racers.

But that's up to the District director and Series director.

Im all for the saves time feature.

How about adding points for all 4 rounds, no one final race decides the outcome? If you are not in the top 6in points after 3 rounds you wont get a place anyway running the 4th race, unless all the leaders get dnf.

Winner take all finals can be real good or real bad.

That would take care of the deal where everyone quaifys for the final if only 6 boats in a class. Why waste fuel on 3 races if only one get the trophies.

not a fan of watching boats get hit and i think this lead to a lot of wrecks last year i know i hit a boat and 3 of our other boats were hit in the shootout races last year.. the normal point system is one of a kind which makes our sport one of a kind it shows who is consistent and fast with strategy... there were a couple of classes last year i was entered in that only had 5 boats, i could have just parked it till the last round thats no fun plus everyone else knows there in so it lead too some boring racing at timeS but shootout or normal point system we will be there ready to RACE! Not complaing or taking shots at anyone just my thoughts.. Evansville in my onion is the best site, club, and races around thanks for all your work!

I would have to agree with phil. you can win 1st place on all 3 heats and when you get to the final you can get beat come in in 6th place and not take a trophy home ummmmm.. i dont like that idea no disrespect for the club or mike but that makes does not seem fair. Im always a firm believer in saving time but i dont like this format. i hope im understanding this correctly If Not Please Advice. Now if you said the Top 3 go to a shootout for winner takes all then thats different. this is just my opinion i hope i dont offend anyone but ill sit this one out..

Evansville gives out more Quality Awards than any Club Period!!!!!!........ You can Win the Top Qualifier award if you earn the most points for that class. then they pass out another 1st place award for the Shootout WINNER (Final) If you like to race WideOpen? this is your place. No Sandbaging, NO Riding, No Point racing, You must qualify top 6 in points to earn the chance to line up for the Shootout....Then you will be racing Wide Open with the top 6 or the best of that paticular class...... Just bring your Best Equipment & Plan to Win them all.........Heats, Points & Shootout!!!! B) SOMETIMES the Winning Shootout Boat has just been waiting for the pay window to open to show you all of it

And to go with that, mike maybe you could chime in on this too, but what about creating a full set of rules and make them avalible on here or handed out when we check in at the race, just so everyone is on the same page an noone thinks rules are getting made up as the race goes on? Just a thought..
