Just finished up my new sport hydro and got a test run in yesterday. Sorry for the bad video quality. I don't know what happened there, but I won't use that phone again for vid. Just gettin a feel for the boat at the start but burned some decent laps near the end. Enjoy!

Goes quite well gotta be happy with that
Thanks. Still need to get it dialed in but yeah, I'm very happy with the boat right off the bench.

Nice Job. Looks good. I like the snake skin design.
Thank you. I wanted to do something different and liked the snake skin design so I tried out hydro dipping for the first time. Very easy to do and inexpensive compared to airbrushing.

Love the snake! Great running boat! Solid!
Thanks Andy. I've been running your rudders on my gas sports and riggers for quite some time now as I've found they perform the best compared to others. So if you got any laying around let me know! Could use some spares, single and double pick ups!

Thanks for the good report on our rudders Scott!

We are slowly ramping up on rudder production again.

What prop did you run on the Ellison boat on the first test day. Looked pretty solid and quick!

Good boating,

Andy

That was a stock ABC 2719/2 38 bar. However, the boat seemed a bit flighty even with the fin adjusted to dig in a bit and a slightly negative strut setting. I'm gonna try a prop with around a 15 degree rake and see if that settles it down. If not enough, I'll move the fuel bag into the nose instead of behind the engine.

You have the cowl and hatcges hydro dipped? Looking great on the water!!

Brad
Thanks for the compliment Brad. I bought the diy kit from https://www.mydipkit.com/shop/ They have tons of cool designs and the kit comes complete with everything you need.

I looked up his name under members and checked some recent posts. I found this post from June of 2021 :

“Dan Ellison
I build off a paid per order list and don't stock any hulls unless I get a cancelation. I currently have been keeping 3-4 boats on my list at a time and am 3 deep right now. which puts them about 3-5 weeks out. I just shipped 3 and have some room to add more shortly . I will look for your PM but I didn't see it. You can also email me at [email protected] Thank you, Dan”

So looks like he builds off a waiting list and understandably so, that’s a nice running boat. Hope this helps.

It looks like an offset header? Is it a 1/2 inch like the Backlash/Whiplash boats use? Also would it be better to put the header hooks at 1 and 7 o'clock or 2 and 8 to help clear the upper deck? Looks real close for the bottom spring.

Good eye Todd. Yes, it's the same 1/2" offset pipe I had you do for my Whiplash. Never had an issue with the springs clearing the deck but your suggestion would certainly give it a little more room.

Boat looks good, Scott! 👍👍

Thanks Randy! That's your Randy Rap turn fin and it proved to be the best choice for this boat, just like my other sport hydro's
