Keith Thompson and I went down to watch Saturday and the water was the best I have EVER seen there. Very light wind, temperature in the low 60's and a big turn out of racers. Saw some great passes. A few people made some nice one way passes but couldn't back them up the other way. Kentley's B Mono was impressive! Weather today is supposed to be the same as Saturday...............Good luck, guys!

Today was a "blow out", literally!! Unfortunately. yesterday was the best weather ever, and many of us, ( me included.... :( ), that were hoping to close the rest of the gap today, fell short. Mother Nature prevailed. I would like to thank everyone for a great weekend. Even when the boats weren't "flying", the stories were!!!...:0

The turn-out was incredible. I would like to personally thank Kentley Porter and Carl Van Houten for their help this weekend. We took Carl's newly modified 21 TABOO, which I just finished rigging the day before the SAWS, from a new creation to within 1/10th of a second of the record. Our last pass early this morning as the wind was picking up, was 3.54sec, (63.559 mph)!!!!! Now when a guy that holds the record currently, jumps in to try to help Carl and I break his own record, it just goes to show you the class act Kentley Porter presents. I also want to thank Martin Tidwell for his help in setting up, working on boats, and pit help.

Thanks also to Mark Shoulund for rushing out some 45 props for us last-minute to try on Carl's Shaman we were hoping to run today, before the winds came!!!... :)

Looks like we will have to come back this Spring... :D

heard on jim's that 108.5 was trent's fast pass, 106.7 was the record. kentley will post the results for us ;) . still, that's freakin' smoking for a gasser!!

Chilli had his FE Q Cat on track to set a new record, only to have it go airborne on the follow-up pass jumping the beam on the second sensor.... :(

Not the first time that has happened. LOL. Even though the weather was nice on Saturday and people came prepared, the records didn't come easy. Many busted there arse working none stop from sunrise to sunset yesterday but came up short. There was some carnage. We were hoping the wind would stay down but this morning was breezy. At least until I left at noon. Personally it was a disappointing weekend. I had many good passes but just couldn't tie two together due to blow overs or technical issues. It's all good though. I learned allot and got to hang out with allot of great boaters. I fell right asleep last night due to exhaustion only to wake up at 2am. I laid in bed until after 4am thinking boats. You've got to be a little screwy to do this SAW's thing. I'll be back in April..

Thanks to KP and the gang!

This was by far the largest turn out at E-City for a SAW trials I have ever seen! I think at one point on Saturday the rotation list was something like 22+ people which meant you waited a while for your turn to come back around. In some aspects it was good as it gave you time to do repairs but on the other hand it gave you time to over analyze and over think what you wanted to try next. :p It wasn't a good weekend for me running like was the case for others but it was still a ton of fun to hang out with everyone, that's when the funniest stories come out! :D Thanks again to KP for his efforts, too bad two out of the three scheduled days were a bust weather wise, everyone had to cram it all into one day. Now it's time to get some stuff done in the shop before my shoulder surgery next month, better get my tail in gear and get a start on next season's projects before the doc turns me into a one armed boater for a while. I hope the weather is better tomorrow for them .My Buddy is there.

As always, I had a blast!

Good to see everybody again. Thanks to everyone that took all the seen and unseen effort to put on the event. Congrats to the record setters all those record runs were sweet. I left my house Friday morning and drove 13 hours thinking I may be spending the next 2 days working props and trying to stay dry because of that front that went through but the boat gods graciously gave us one full day Saturday and a snippet of good water Sunday morning to tweak & tune on.

The record pass was just a sneeze away for a few of us but lots of fun just the same. Thanks to Ron Shaw for all your hospitality and for putting me on those KILLER FRIED SHRIMP & STEAMED OYSTERS .. WOW. If I lived close to that Oyster Bar, I would be a regular for sure.
