hello, I have a newer Eagle SGX 80 that I raced for two years and put on the shelf. Great condition, never wrecked. I cant get around to race it anymore since i started driving big hydroplanes.

Recently, I posted on ebay and had no real takers on it.

So my question to you is, How much is it worth? I dont want to ask too much, but in turn, I dont want to give it away.

-41" Eagle SGX 80 hull in excellent condition.

-Picco 80 motor in great shape with only one and half seasons run on it.

-Airtronics 1/4 scale steering servo, Airtronics throttle servo, and Hitech third channel fuel mixing servo.no reciever

-New 1700mA 6vdc battery pack.

-Carbon Fiber sandwiched transom.

-1/4 inch prop shaft for 3/16" i.d. propellers.

-3/16" i.d. custom prop installed and included.

-Custom boat stand.

-New, un-cut, spare cowling.

On ebay right now for $900

thanks for listening,

Sounds like a good deal to me. A 2010 SGX 45 just sold on here for $600 without the engine.

Provide lots of pics including the engine with the head off on your Ebay posting. It will help the sale.

41" SGX 80 is an awesome race boat.

P.S. I see that Chris is new to I/W. For those that are interested in this boat and might wonder about Chris' credibility. Chris has been a consistant CMDi customer since 2004.

What year is the Picco Motor ?, what year was the boat build ?, Does the Picco engine have a RPM Rod and when was the last time the bearings have been changed ? those are probably some questions a buyerwill have that can also determine how much they are willing to offer for the boat..

More details including date built in the Ebay ad.

I was the lucky winner of this beauty. Can't wait to get her running fired up and running. During inspection the motor seemed to be a little gummed up maybe dried up after run oil? other than that the engine looks like it just came outta the box.

I put some oil in the head and rolled it over a few times and it's smooth as can be. I'm not familiar with the picco exr's and this thing has a DTX LR3 hot plug, is that the right plug? I've always run MC-9's or ODonnel Cold.

I just bench tested everything and it's one sweet rigger. I didn't even have to adjust the needle. This boat was very well handled. I'm about to hit the lake for some test runs.

Congratulations!!..on your new boat!!, hope your happy with the way she runs for you...keep us posted.

Happy Boating,

You will love that boat, it always ran good at the local races. The one thing you will need to know about that motor is how to check and adjust the disk rotor. Other than that the motor is great.

To save yourself a lot of potential problems and money take the motor apart and inspect it , simply putting oil in it and turning it over tells you little about the engines condition.

If it has been sitting for any length of time and not oiled properly there could be problems.

I would replace the bearings with new regardless of how they feel and set the rotor clearance to .001 also make sure the rotor housing face is flat or concaved a little.

A little work now will save you a ton of work , frustration and money later , looks like a great boat

Enjoy , Tim.
