Plan A - Convert my 30" OS 21 tunnel to FE. Take off the nitro engine, use the FE motor adapter from Zipp, and run my Huff 2200 rewind.
Problem with Plan A - The Huff 2200 KV rewind was too much power and the 30" boat couldn't hand the increased power.
Plan B - Build a bigger WOF tunnel. Obviously something I've had some experience doing. 2" longer and 1/2" wider. Built it in 5 days using 5 minute and 15 minute epoxy. Ran it at our club's Turkey Shoot in primer coat. Ran much better than the 30"
Just finished painting it yesterday - Rust-Oleum Primer/Color coat
Prop that has worked best - Prop 4U, Prather 225 SS reduced diameter 45.50mm, with the hub notched. Mark Sholund originally did the prop when I was messing with a P Limited Sport Hydro. And I did the hub notch while using it on a WOF P Limited Sport Hydro.
Prop Depth - C/L of prop level with bottom of sponsons.
Prop thrust angle - basically neutral.
Ride angle - at WOT it rides on the back 1/2 of the sponsons.
After 59 years of running nitro powered boats, I'm now all FE.

My solution was a little different. I cut down the sponson tips on an XT-460 to get 34" hull length. It worked in the rough conditions at the NAMBA Nationals with a couple wrenches taped to the bows. The power these days at close to 200 amps from a really good 4S pack gives at least 3 real hp. I doubt that any 7.5 size nitro motor actually produced that power despite what was advertised. I'm sorry I missed the Turkey Shoot. I'll try to make another District event so we can compare.

The boat is 32" in length. Yesterday I had an opportunity to test more props. When I was playing with a P Limited Sport Hydro last summer, Mark Sholund did 3 props for me. The Prather 225 worked well when I first began testing props. Yeaterday, I tried 2 ABC 1717-17 rake props with different cup, pitch, diameter. Both props provided too much lift. I also tried an Octura X642 full and it appeared to work as well as the Prather 225. I'm reluctant to relieve the hubs on the ABC props since I'm going to build another P Limited Sport Hydro this winter.
