Do most people put drain holes in the engine bay on their rigger tubs? I have been doing it for a while but I am not sure why? LOL

Drain holes are just fine as long as you keep running til you come back to shore!!! Yes I have holes in both of my riggers but one has deflectors/planning pads on the bottom..

Later!!

A radio box tape flap works also. New a guy shot his pickup water straight down under tub for lift.

I thought that foam core sponsons and foam in the nose worked well as flotation along with air in the radio box. It is still a good idea to let the water out as it keeps the motor dry to keep running.

I always run a sump with an open back. You can mount the engine lower, and bleed air between the bottom of the tub and the water to help with launching.
