Hey Jeff,John, Don calling it “injection” was just a trick name for sure. Its true all it does is control fuel flow but it’s not a needle. It’s 2 slots like a gas heater adjuster from the old days. Don feels it is more responsive than a needle . The one in the picture was the second version he made. The last models were much different than that. Jeff Lutz
Not to answer for Jeff, but typically the larger opening is for the line from the tank, and the smaller one out to the carb.. I think the reason behind this is to keep the velocity of the fuel up with a smaller line as the valve creates a pressure drop across the inlet to outlet..Hey Jeff,
Any idea the reason behind the posted example having different sized outlets on the nipples?
Without getting into that, Don quit sending them out that way and started making them with nipples the same size.Hey Jeff,
Any idea the reason behind the posted example having different sized outlets on the nipples?

And when you get a good running mixture....log the Atmos in notes, or screenshot it, label and file, take a flow reading (Kevin or Boris meter), attach flow reading to your Atmos file.It depends on how you set up the linkage,,, if you keep the throw centered at your perfect needle setting and only move the valve a tiny bit that works for some...
I prefer to center the valve and use a large amount of throw on my third channel knob..
Throw the boat in sloppy rich and start clicking it lean till it jumps on the pipe...
I use Android OS, so we got from Google Play Store...was $3-$4.Timbo, is that an app or from some data recording device ? That's pretty cool..

The developer has other cool tuning apps, too. I'm sure Apple carries it in iPhone app store.
The app pings from GPS waypoints, so your location settings in phone should be set to most sensitive.
As an example, our club's pond is ~1 mi- 2 mi from nearest waypoint, terrain is rather flat, so readings seem to be still more accurate than a mechanical density gauge.
If money isn't an object, Kestrel makes some very nice hand held weather stations that are optimized for racing, specifically.
A lot of NHRA and APBA racers use them. Also, they integrate with a laptop so you have quick access to your files at the pond.
