Welcome to the board Brad, and also to my addiction. I also was into offroad for years and years and then turned to boats. The SD3 1.01 is a hell of a boat, and alot of power. Just don't over lean the motor and watch the nitro content, I believe it is 50% and below but maybe 40%.If you want to go with higher nitro make sure to have the head button milled out. For props I would go with what Jerry sells with the boat and also try a x467, x470, and or a x472 ( all octura props). Other than that good luck and good water.

Brad that's a huge setup. I have a .67 seaducer yet to see the water. All I can sey is DO NOT skimp on the servos. The minium would be a 645MG for the rudder. That is alot of boat to turn. Also run a fail safe in it.

gday there cliff and big roy, thanks heaps for the info, big roy i think my servos will be fine, the jr z9100t i will use for the rudder is 330 oz of torque hopefully thats enough other wise i will definitely be upgrading, thanks heaps guys keep the info coming.

It is important to prepare the prop if it is not finished. Balance and sharpen to a pretty fine edge, to the point you could cut yourself. This will keep the boat running smooth and not lean or prop walk.

thanks for the info phil, muchly appreciated,im also curious about the 3rd channel setup,i was just messing around with my radio and was curious as to how you set it up.when my third chanel servo is connected, how do you get the servo to richen or lean the mixture,my servo only moves in one direction,as in a reverse setup for a car,how do make the servo move in small increments to change the mixture, sorry for the stupid questions, cheers, brad.

hi, welcome to the site and welcome to the world of r/c boating! there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. there are many great people on this site that will help you out with just about anything you need. depending n your radio, you have to buy a 3rd needle set up and use one std servo.most pistol radios have either a thunb wheel or a knob, you will use 1 of them for 3rd channel. good luck and take slow steps before you run. mike.

Follow the seaducer building specs on the boat it will call for a 1/4 scale turn servo. I run a 5745 digital on the rudder on 6 volts 1400-2000 plus battery pak. X467 is a great prop for the boat
