How much amperage can a deans ultra plug handle before they become a permanently molten glob of plastic and copper....?

~James

Hi James,

I wouldn't push them much over 60 amps. It's not so much they would melt, it's more of a too high resistance.

Paul.

Wow... really? I was thinking they would handle more and be efficient at the same time...but thats why i asked the experts. So, can you make recommendation on the correct type of plug that is say.... good up to 130-140 amps? I see everyone using the bullet type connectors, but dont know what size I need?

Thanks Paul,

~James

Hi James,

I use 5.5mm connectors on all my high amp stuff. Some guys like the 6mm pins, either will work just fine.

Paul.

the deans are actually rated at 35 amps but, like Paul said anything about 60 they start to get very hot.

I use 5.5mm on all my high amp stuff.

Anyone got a reliable source for the 5.5 connectors? Paul? I need some quick!

~James

Hi James,

Got lots of them, how many you need and where are they going? You can send me a PM with the info and I'll get you taken care of.

Paul.
