Has anyone ever used on of these pipes ? Are They any good ? I have access to the larger one used for a scale boat. The CVEC company is out of Florida and the website is www.cvecpowersystems.com . Any help would be appreciated

I saw one run on a gas boat and nitro air boat. Both looked to work well, but the owners complained about having to clean the valve section ALOT.

Plus they are kinda high priced, when you look at the other pipes on the market.

I would go with a quiet pipe from CMDI (Andy Brown).

But that's just me.

The manufacture is in Melbourne Fl the pipe is over priced for what it is . If you want a quiet pipe that works get a Cooper.I have tryed to get him to let me dyno his pipe but he is unwilling, some one sent Mike Hoffmiester one and he found if you took the guts out and put all of the sections together it would work to some degree but not as good as a real pipe.

I use a blue anodized CVEC pipe on my Nova Rossi purple head and it flat out screams. A+ in my opinion. :)

What size pipe are you being offered?? Is it a .21, .45 or .67 size?? I thought they only had made 1/8 scale car pipes so that's why I asked.

Hap,

Are you saying you wanted to dyno the CVEC pipe or the Cooper??

I'm curious what the dyno'ing does?

Thaks!

 I have received 3 pipes from CVEC all for free over the last 5 years to do some R&D testing for marine applications. All a dismal failure due to the pipes not peaking at a high enought rpm. Have used 2 .21 types with various lenth mid band sections and one of the new GAS CVEC pipes with 4 differant lenth mid band sections.

As a car pipe or an application that required the engine in question to have torque then the CVEC is KING !! Even a .21 with one has killer torque but won't rev up high enought. The big props can be pulled but won't rev with them so the speeds are not up enought and handling was bad due to prop torque issues.

Kind of a funny pipe in that the cone angles on the diavergant side are very steep and short giving the pipe a very narrow power peak but by vurtue of design ( variable back pressure adjustablity) have a super broad power band, just not a super strong or high peak. Good luck. Scott :(
