Coyote help needed

Yup, 3m tape works great, simple and effective. They're selling the better black stuff at the big box stores now, it's much better than the grey.

Not sure what hardware you have but I would put a rubber mount and flex shaft in vs the old style hard mount and solid shaft.

pss: I wouldn't elongate the tube holes in the tub or do anything else until you have a good plan of attack!

I'm not saying it don't work, I prefer not to use it & I use this type of rear adjust in prototype hulls I design.

3m tape is what we have been using to put our sponsons on the back of the tub. From singles to Twin hydros it works perfect and will not come off at high speeds.

No bolting on rears or gluing we got away from that a long time ago.

Good for you! I'll stay with my quick screw on & adjust system mr RR.

Everyone has a different way of doing it. It works for me and a lot of other people. I'm not Mr. Roadrunner that's Ralph Almirola my name is Julian.

I live in Chatham Ontario. The picture of the Roadrunner looks a lot like the Coyote. Unfortunately, I have already glued the Hardwood engine mounts in, and not able to remove them

Too bad, I would definitely try to get them out, sometimes a chisel works.

Roadrunner's "evolved" from Coyote's so it will be very similar...

Key thing here now is don't glue anything else till you learn more about

outriggers = )

There are plenty of plans online showing positions of rear sponsons angle of

attack in relation to front sponson's and depth to strut. Also aluminum boom

assemblies and ways they are mounted, methods of adjustment. Engine

mounting methods for ease of adjustment / vibration absorption.

High rpm running will require at least 6oz tank with a 20 size engine.

There is a gent on this forum that can make you a custom metal

tank to take up all the spare room between the sponson booms.

Optional of course but looks good and popular.

Yup! That's why I joined this forum.

I have a plan of my own for the tank. I'm not 100% about it, but I'm making mine out of lexan!

Don't fret over the hardwood rails,,,,, You will be just fine with a "hard" mount in that boat.

Use a Octura Omni mount and it'll be fine.

If you need a new Omni, hit me up, I'm sure I have a N.I.P. I can supply you.

I will type you more as I have built a 40 Coyote, that was kinda modified and some original.

I agree with Ken a good heat gun will soften the epoxy glue then slip a putty knife under the wood mount and pry it up and clean the epoxy off at the same time. I can build you a tank for this boat, I built Phil's Coyote fuel tank.

I am thinking about taking the blocks out but the glue I used is Gorilla Glue! I am interested in a tank but I would like to try my idea... and watch it fail lol. I'll keep in contact!

Leave the blocks in. Use lords rubber iso's to hold a alum plate for motor. I'll try an post a pic of how my Mongoose mounts are done.

Do these settings cross-over to the various sizes of Coyote hulls (.21, .45, .67, .80, .90)?

If you know someone with a milling machine they could mill it out and get yourself some 30 min.epoxy for building and some west system for sealing the wood inside and out. Modern drive system and rubber motor mounts are the way to go!! I have a 90 Coyote that I'm working on and hope to have it finished for springtime. It's going to be OPS 90 powered, old school. The cowl I made to cover that big block.
