Yeah, I just picked up an XT-460 to compliment my Hornet tunnel. I worked a little bit on the XT-460 tonight actually! I will keep everyone updated on the Cobra tuning. Gonna start the Vision 20 very soon. I have to get a whiplash build done for a customer, and have to custom paint 2 other Cobra's for another gentlemen..So its busy, busy! Mike

Please share with me your cable slide tube idea. What size tube, what liner& size, cable size. Do you get a water tight seal. If similar was say like 1" long would it be water tight ?

Your FE OBs look awesome makes me want build one.

I painted a couple cobras for a customer today. Enjoy! Mike

153stars, sorry for the late reply on the cable tube..I FINALLY realized what you were asking! You are asking about the 3 brass tubes that the ESC motor wiring passes threw. Ok, the tube is 3/8" brass K&N tubing, I take a piece of shrink and put it directly on the wire..maybe 1/4" size shrink tubing to make the wire a bigger diameter, then I put a 3/8" size over the wire and the brass tube, and shrink it down, and it gives a great seal. The reason I add that 1/4" shrink directly to the wire is the wire doesn't have quite enough diameter for the 3/8" shrink to seal down on the wire..this fixes that. Hope that is not to confusing! Mike

Mike, I think he is talking about the steering cable guides (aluminium) that come out the side of the box.

Thanks ,That's right maybe I wasn't clear. I tend to get messed up typing my thoughts. We have been playing around with something similar on the 12g"kinda cramped for big seals". If you have perfected the K&S tube or cable with silicone tube as a seal I would like to know your ideas. Your electronics cost way more than what we're PUTTING IN OUR RADIO BOXES so I'm sure your not fooling around.I seem to get water from all kinds of strange problems.Once had a leak in a tiny gel coat chip in a seducer box, it had 2 layers of nice glass below it . I kept looking at the seals. It didn't want to bubble out under water blowing through the antenna tube, like a check valve. It drove me nuts.

do any of you know about running FE outboards in salt water? i run in a salt water pond and am worried about the motors shorting out internally due to the conductivity of salt water. i really want to make a FE tunnel but want someone to confirm that it will work before dumping the cash into it. i am also curoius about building a inboard FE tunnel. that one i would use a steerable outdrive such as a blackjack, mounting the battery rearward and motor centered to try and obtain the correct CG... if anyone has tried either of theese options please let me know the results..

thanks
