Tim, this is what I'm up to.... with very minor mods those 45 backplates work on the twin plug 67 EVOlution 67....then I can run Speedmaster carbs.
I'm thinking the stock black one is the way to go, as Harry has carbs for that mtg. scheme.

If you can hold off until tonight, I'll see what the pricing is on them and we can go from there....

No problem Tim , keep in mind Tim the silver backplate has the larger bore which may benefit the 67 engine. You could also bore the black one yourself if you want. Tim

The black one takes the SM carbs and integrates at the mounting interface..... thus said, the actual carb bore is withing the carb/venturi itself.

So, Stu charges $53 for the black 45 RS EVO (gold head) backplate....haven't checked with Tony Gritner in Australia, which is undoubtedly less expensive. How does $30 sound for the black piece?.....

As in machine the base of the carb flat ?
Is the bolt spacing the same as stock ?

Bolt spacing is the same. The raised shoulder of the carb needs to be reduced to allow a flush fit of the carb. When I get home I can send you a picture of the VAC carb.
