I just got a Sport 40 boat....was told that the engine was a CMB 45RS with an EVO 2 head. My question is, how do I know its a RS?? It has CMB stamped on one side and 45 on the other...no Rs. I was told that the 45's didn't have the Rs stamp, but all the others (21's, etc) do....is there anybody that knows for sure?? I can't seem to find anything online...

thanks

One easy way to tell the difference, besides the RS being physically larger than the EVO, is that the CMB and the 45 are on opposite sides. On the RS, the CMB is on the left side of the motor, or port side. The EVO on the starboard side (mono).

Or, if you lay them down on their sides with the water jackets up and the carbs to the left,The RS will say CMB and the EVO will say 45.

Thanks for the info....it is the RS then. the CMB is on the left side of the boat, 45 on the right side....
