What pipe are you using on the CMB 101?
Hi Marty,

I converted my CMB 90 to a 101 and ran it for the first time today at Seville. The boat is an 11 pound Roadrunner. Head vol. 0.90 cc, HC = 0.014" made the holes and milled the slots in the liner. Using a MACS 15 CC pipe with a Prather stinger muffler at 11.5" 1667 prop at 5.5" 45% nitro with 18% oil (2% castor). Ran really well today at 86 mph on the GPS.

Thanks old buddy....

I think that the 15cc pipe must be the best from all the replies. Thanks for all the additional info, that is the way I like to see replies. Kind of like the NE from the old days.

Id be inclined to try something out of the box Newest Cooper gas pipe with internal stinger. With a slight massage the o-ringed end should flow right out a 101 header.

Speaking of a Macs 15cc pipe with a 1.01. I cant stop the pipe from sliding back. I am using a teflon coupler and today when I returned from a run, the pipe had slid back 1/2"!! Suggestions????

Thanks

Allen

Marty,

We have found the Muck 15cc nitro pipe to be the best on our 101's.

They are hard to find, but they are worth searching for. :D

Allen,

When you find your set up just weld them together.

It works very well, but I have quite a pipe collection. :D

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund

Mark:

I have a couple of them that I used to run on an 1/8 Scale years ago. It had a ton of torque, but not much rpm on the 67 engine. Might be better on RPM on a bigger engine. What Length do you run it?

Marty, Mark, has ran a muck pipe on an engine I built for him ,that he has ran in a straightaway boat.To my knowledge Mark never ran it in a heat race boat. If the ports are stock on your engine, the Muck 15 and the Mac 15 are going to be very comparable on a radar gun.On either pipe I would start about 11 1/2-11 3/4 from the plug to the center of the flat section on either pipe. FYI Steve Muck still has new pipes or did have. I have a new one if you cant find one Marty
