Hey Flyin, interesting way to go about that. I don't know just how fine the jewelers glitter is but "polyflake", which is what bass boat builders use when they mold a metal flake boat is super fine. Most boat builders or bass boat dealers will only sell it by the bag, usually a pound. There are some really great colors available from various boat builders. Just a thought.

FRS,

Have you ever used auto clear coat instead of resin after putting the final layer of glitter down??

Mark...

Okay,

I get the concept of how you did it but how do you use seperation?? I see a few different colors, do you mask them off?? or do you put resin in a certain pattern?? Like when I paint flames I mask the area off......

I've found the best way is to mask each color off and seal it befor the next color to prevent the colors from getting into each other .then start the build up of clear enough that sanding will not reach the flake.

Looks good, Nice hardware you made, course you need to get rid of that square drive. :p

I just got a boat with it set up and i had to cut it out, I dont like that setup at all.

I would run it with the fin 1st to see how it runs, then try it without, that way if it performs differently, you will know why. It is easier to remove stock than to put it back. ;) If you like the way it runs with it on, you don't need to do anything else.

If it causes turning problems I'll probably try removing some of it ,then a little more at a time.
