Carbon fiber pipe repair?

Hey guys,
I have an older style Salisbury pipe that is no longer produced. It appears there is a small pinhole right around the belly of the pipe.
What would be the best way to fix this? Does it need a certain epoxy or for something this tiny would a dab of west systems do the trick? It is unnoticeable until firing the engine up and it begins spewing fuel.

Brandon I would v it slightly with a dremel and use JB weld, force some through the hole to create a rivet type affect on the inside and leave an amount outside to cover.

The method john mentioned will work, only downside is you will always see it..

The epoxy used to lay up these carbon pipes is of the high temp variety.. it can be obtained, but at a cost, and most likely in an amount way over what you need... then again, high temp epoxy can come in handy for things...

If you do use epoxy I would mix it with some finely chopped carbon..

Years ago I repaired SPP pipe on my twin with fibreglass and used west systems and never had a problem.

JB weld makes a high temp version of their epoxy. You can blacken it using a piece of charcoal. Use a knife and scrape some off and mix the carbon dust in with the high temp epoxy to darken it so that it is not grey anymore. Good luck with your repair!

You can buy black pigment. Mix it in with the JB weld or epoxy.. repair will be pretty much invisible..

I have the pipe epoxy for my square wave pipes. It requires a multistage high temp oven cure cycle. I can repair your pipe by adding a small carbon braided sock over the damage to reinforce. Depending on the resin used, internal erosion of the pipe can occur. I have repaired several gadget pipes this way. PM me to discuss if you are interested.
