Terry, the composite store is pretty good . I just bough some glitter tissue don't know where to put it ,seems to have a sharpness when laid on mahogany.will need more than 1 coat. still experimenting. I have a 67 rigger that has fiberglass fence post from the Farm & Tractor Store as booms.no stress cracks yet http://www.cstsales.com/index.html

I think you will find that the Arrow shafts are only 1/4 inch. They would be more for a .12 size rigger.Terry, the composite store is pretty good . A lot of people are using carbon fiber arrow shafts. Walmart, or any archery shop.

Try here; http://www.acp-composites.com/home.php?cat=4663Who sells 5/16 or .312 or 8mm(all the same thing or very close) cf hollow rods to make boom tubes for my hawk rigger and won't kill me on the shipping ??
Terry
You are correct TK, good memory (no pun intended). I do use different flexes for different handling.I use the 5/16" solid CF rod on my 40 boat, works well. Had them on my 60 but went to 3/8" for a more rigid setup.
I seem to remember the "Zee Man" talking about using different boom tubes on his Ninja and saying the handling was differerent with the different "flex", anyone else find this?
How 'bout it "Z"?

The softness of the booms helps in rough water, keeps the sponsons from slapping so hard, and keeps the hull more stable. Going from the old aluminum booms to the carbon was the first indicater,we just took it further. Corner speed was the same as far as I could see.You are correct TK, good memory (no pun intended). Now that's a "goalie" answer if I ever heard one!
Seriously tho, what changes in the handling from the "soft" to "hard" ride? Was the cornering different?
