The 2015 IMPBA National Nitro Championships, hosted by the Charleston Model Boaters, from Wednesday, June 24th through Saturday June 27th is now open for entries. There has been a lot of admin and planning work needed to be completed and we are ready to get this race underway. We appreciate your patience with us. This race starts on Wednesday June 24th and completes on Saturday, June 27th. There is an awards banquet planned for Saturday evening after all racing has concluded.
PLEASE carefully read the race information. This race format is prescribed by IMPBA and will consist of 5 rounds of heat racing only. No time trials are in this race, that is the format of the International Regatta. This is a more relaxed paced race that is most enjoyable for all. As stipulated by IMPBA, the traditional or normal classes will completely run first and the specialty classes will run second. I suspect the normal classes will be completed by early Friday if not before. OPEN WATER is ONLY on Tuesday, June 23rd.
A fun pair of classes has been added and are a Run What You Brung HYDRO and MONO. Any legal IMPBA class boat can run in this. You must ensure you are in compliance with the hull and engine CID requirements of the class boat you plan on running. There will be 6 boat heats with a max number of 18 for each class. A final heat of 6 boats will be compiled from the qualifying heats for a winner take all winner and trophy in the final heat. The race fee for this class is $25, $15 upon registration and $10 additional at race time. These will be run on Saturday after all classes have been run.
Additional information is contained in the attached document. The specific rules for the RTR .18 Hydro class is in this document. Additionally, the motel information and driving directions are on the last 2 pages.
SPECIAL NOTE: Unless you are an approved CD or a CMB member, do NOT use the mail in payment option. You MUST use the Paypal payment.
