wonder how one of the Stilettos would go with a 91 CMB in it?

carl
It should roll-on down the pond. The best running Canard we used to see on the southern circuit was driven by a guy named "Larry Maglinger". Larry had a Circus Circus Pink Canard and it was fast around the track. The hydro boys at that time had a little top end on him but if they couldn't use it before he got to the corner he was gone. Larry's sons (Curtis and Brad) run Custom Audio in Evans Ky. You may be able to contact them and find out some good info. They had the stuffing problems figured out.

yeah, those are what Alex is looking for. wonder who ever got the molds for those Stelletos? (spelling)
I have the molds I made a copy from an original boat but it did not run very good so I made changes and a 2nd mold boat runs good.

Carl:

How about the guy from Wisconsin that owned the hobby shops (can't remember his name - getting old). His was just as good and he could really drive.

Hi All I do have the molds from the person that was making them. I have the 40/60 and the 90 mold. I am doing a little more R&D on the Hulls. The one in the pic of the mag articale is the 90 hull. I am running one with a cmb 1.0 and it is a missle on the water. I plan on running a few races with them next year to see how they stack up with the riggers. See ya Jimmy

Marty;

i think it was Scott Jones like Bill Z said.

and there was another guy (can't remember where) that used to build reverse riggers like i did when we were stationed in Germany.

man those things went like rockets.

carl

this thread has brought back alot of memories and am VERY tempted to build a BIG one this time.

some one just needs to twist my arm a bit. :lol: :lol: :lol:

43 in coming bottom mold done working on the top pic s of bottom with flotation in this is going to be a gas canard but would run nice with a big block nitro or even two

When you get a Canard working right, it rails the turns. I always enjoyed watching them.

Hello everybody .

This is a reply from Australia . The secretary of my old boat club occasionally built a few boats in fibreglass and saw a interesting canard boat at a race meet , so he went home and made 1 . It measures 1 metre long and is 500 mm wide at the rear sponsons . He ran a OPS 45 Motor on low nitro and it was very quick . To help it track better he put a small fin under the front of the boat . I believe he also made a light weight version for a 21 size motor , but never ran it . For a long time it was hanging up in his garage , not sure if he still has it .
