James,

We have found thru plenty of testing the the 12 motors like fuel and lots of it.

Run as big of carb that you can .300" bore works very well on a 12 motor.

The X-series propellers are not really that good on a hydro. We are currently

running : 1440's, 1640's, and 1540's on our 12 hydros.

Have Fun Testing,

Mark Sholund

Thanks mark i will have to try a few of those props come spring time.....:).......sick of thos snow and 15 below whether already..

Here is a pic of the prop i Texas cut with another 440 not sure if i did it right or toke to much off of the prop...and a pic of the temp setup will change a few things along the way but this is wht i have so far....

Looks like it's coming along fine. Great job on your linkage. It is a pain living in the north where the water gets hard but that does give us time to build as I have 3 JAE's on the table now and a scale that I am trying to get finished. Spring always comes sooner than you think!!

Cant wait for spring to get here....now my other ? Is where do i need to set my needles at high and low speed....i used 20 nitro whn it was in my truck .... and will be useing 66 in it for the boat..had it started earlier today...forgot how this motor screams....

Well you could cut the low speed off, and as far as the high..... Open it up to where it will start and then go rich to the point it bogs out and won't rev to the moon...

No never messed with the head clearance...i left it like it was.....wht should it be set at and it is a standard plug cold....

I like the dark stain wood color better....i had a guy in kolona iowa that does air brush work...but was to far to drive

you will need to get the head clearance down to run well.. 0.006 works well but its hard to measure,.. check how many shims are in there.
