Since the inception of the club two years ago, it has been our main goal to present the best race that we possibly could. What started out as an idea, grew to reality last year when we held our first race. Although it was agreed that it was a successful event, we thought that we could improve upon the things that we felt needed improvement. There was a base line standard that we set, and we wanted to raise it this year.
These challenging time that we are all experiencing, are also felt by our sponsors, in which we rely heavily on for our prizes. Unfortunately, we could not maintain that “base line standard” that we set for ourselves last year. After exhausting all of our options, it became necessary to make a decision in regards to the event. Our decision was that if we could not maintain our standard, that we would postpone our event till next year in the hopes of improvement. We also wanted to give the Driftwood Model Boat Club an opportunity to use our race date with sufficient time to plan a race.
I would like to thank everyone who supported our event in the past, and hope to see you all at next year’s event.
