You would think that after 25 years of model boating I would know better than to buy used nitro motors from people I do not know! The last two I purchased from these boards were described as having "smooth bearings and good compression" Both motors have ZERO compression and one had been sitting for so long that the bearings are gummed up and far from "smooth" and it had a broken drum valve, frozen carb barrel and missing carb arm! I guess from now on if I am buying a used motor I will just assume it has little/no compression regardless of the description. Rant over.

The motor i sent has good compression tighten the head down .i didn't know the carb is locked .i can send you a carb arm i have plenty . If your not happy with it for the price i will gladly take it back

Hello Mike. Of course I tightened the head and the motor has very little compression, it is certainly not usable in its current condition. It will need a new drum valve, piston/sleeve, and maybe bearings, not to mention work on the carb and an arm. Weather I am happy with it for the price is not my concern. My concern is that it, and many other used motors I have purchased over the years, arrived in a very different condition than what was described in the ad.

LOL................. What the heck did you think after all theses years that the sun would stop shining..........................

I just bought 4 k/b engines on here used with same description took them apart all needed new bearings and 2 the piston came straight out the top of the sleeve

So you come in here and bitch and moan about it BEFORE contacting the seller? REALLY nice guys...how about seeing what the seller says first and if they say get lost then maybe a rant is ok

buying used motors is always the buyers problem...everyones idea of OK is different

All motors I have bought from this forum used or new A++++++ to the deals I purchased

Ken

If your referring to me I did contact the seller and he did offer to refund my money back it was just easier for me to buy new bearings for them rather then sending them back and waiting for a refund I think the point is be up front or know what your selling that's it I don't think that's to hard to ask

I didn't pay $25 each for these engines in fact I traded a real nice mod zenoah for 2 and $139 for 2 good deals I agree if they were what they said they were

Eric Canto bitching about getting taken on and engine he bought used. Same Eric that made a Christmas gift offer and didn't fulfill the deal. I don't think he is someone to be trusted.

Ken, I own a HobbyTown USA and work a rediculous amount of hours this time of year so getting your free radio out pronto was not my top priority. As with the other Christmas giveaways I have done here, yours certainly would have gotten done as well. I've been racing boats for over 25 years. Try to find someone that says I can't be trusted.

By the way Ken, what did you give away on the gift thread? :)

I bought 2 used Novarossi 21 motors from this site in the last few months from 2 different people. The motors were in excellent shape and I think better than the description stated. Just my 2 cents

Like Bob my experiences have been really good, 3 engines brought over the years, all have been better than described and I've been very happy with them. It is unfortunate that not all people are as honest as most on here

I apologize for the rude remark. It would have been nice if you had acknowledge you received the request. I have nothing worth giving away at this time.

Ken,

You are way out of line on Eric Canto.

He is one of the nicest boaters here on IW.

I have not talked to him recently, but I can tell you

Eric is as straight up as people come. If you need a free

Radio I have quite a few.

Eric,

Happy New Year! I hope everything is going well for you down in FLA.

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund
