Andy...

I was wondering what the applications are for the three different variants of your Brown 21 muffled pipes? I run NR motors and currently run the original version in my mono at 2 7/8" (plug to weld) and could probably go a bit shorter. I'm building a rigger now, and trying to decide on a pipe. Is the orginal, S or the latest variant the way to go? I can provide more info if necessary.

Thanks,

Rick

BTW any plans for an O/B pipe?

Just moving this message up...I think it is relevant to more than just me?!?

Thanks,

Rick

Rick, gonna be away from the computor for the next two days. Get back with you all later.

Good boating,

Andy

rick i can run the original one with better consistancy. the short will give me more rpm and speed but it is more sensitive on the needle. but i will be working with the short pipe alittle more this coming season.

moving message back up again...thanks jon for your input...I'm sure others could comment as well on their experiences with NR and the Brown pipes...Andy, I'm still interested in your response on the differences/applications of the 3.

Thanks,

Rick

Rick,

For the NR header the S pipe is better than the Original parabolic pipe. If you set the S pipe at 2 7/8" you will get a little more torque and the same or slightly more rpm than you got with the Original pipe.

The new "Long" pipe also has a little more torque and rpm than the Orignal pipe, but for the NR it is not possible to get as many rpm as the S pipe.

For the NR my choice would be:

1st. S pipe

2nd. Long pipe

3rd. Original parabolic pipe

Andy,

I had found this thread doing a search on pipes and you have gotten me curious. Could you tell me, what is the S-pipe?

Rick,

I believe that Bob Kensill is making a limited amount of outboard pipes

with Andy's parabolic pipe. You may want to get in touch with him if you

are in the market for a nice quiet outboard pipe. Also, just another idea

for you Rick, have you tried the AB nitro pipe with a stinger on the end?

We have found this to be THE BEST SETUP STILL. It is still not too loud

either, and the PERFORMANCE IS RIGHT ON!!!

Just A Different Outlook,

Mark Sholund B)
