Has anyone done a build thread for a Blazer marine Whiplash 40 boat, I'm about to start building, and was hoping for some more in depth set up instructions, with regard to Strut/rudder placement etc, as the official manual doesn't show a lot

any info is greatly appreciated

thanks

Shane

Shane,

If you run a double tank system make sure you can get the tanks in and out, once I mounted my stuffing tube the tanks would not come out they hit the stuffing tube, had to cut a square hole in the top of the sponsons to get them out. Also I would re inforce the motor areas pretty weak in my opinion. I also added a piece of carbon fiber to the the rear for more strength for the rudder, and strut. These are a few Issues I had when I built mine. They are quite a easy boat to build and are very fast once set up.

Charliehow do you get to the engine mount bolts behind the formers ??, did you use a flat bottom or round strut, do you have any info on strut depth, as I have no idea, having never touched a sport hydro before

I'm with Beau there if you look in the transom pic the rudder came with a backing plate and the Virginian craftsman Has a backing plate also. The rudder is from Rum Racing. Both are top notch and are sport 40 specialist. As for the tank I added a small piece of foam. The tank has a inner tank and it is a tight fit .20170116_092341.jpg

thanks Charlie

I have emailed Rum Racing and Gary, I noticed on your pics, you have the pipe on the engine without a header, is that to keep the pipe under deck height ??, where can I get the delrin mount system, the only mounts I have are the floor type sport 40 mounts

Does anyone have the building jig dimension's for the WP 40, as my boat kit did not come with the jig, and the instructions only give width, but not the side ply profile dimensions and curveture

Hi Charlie,

I haven't started it yet,

as I haven't got a building jig and i have asked around for the dimensions that Blazer marine supplied with the kits , so I can build one, but no one has been able to help, otherwise I would have started the build ages ago, I want the correct jig built before i start

if you or anyone can help with dimensions of the jig, it would be much appreciated,
