I looked at some old posts but didn't see any actual numbers. What is a good hydro pipe length for a CMB .21 Beta with CMB nitro pipe?

Thanks, Ron

8" on the dot for me in my sport 20 50% nitro, and I had cut the low needle off as well.

Ron,

I run an Andy Brown STL pipe at 7.5 inches. I ran the nitro pipe down to 7 5/8. I pull H4s at 3.6 cup with 45mm diameter on this setup.

Ron

Start at 8.0 and you will end up at 7 3/4 or a little shorter.

Dave is right on with that. I am still running mine at 8. The thing is making so many rpm at 8", I had to change the boat for the extra speed.

Nice motor, you will be happy.

Ron,

I have had good results with the Nova Rossi (50040) pipe at

7.5" to 7.75" depending on how much diameter and pitch I am

testing.

Thanks For Reading,

The ops 3280 pipe is a good pipe but after changing over to the CMB nitro pipe getting more RPM'S

I seem to be having trouble with the low end needle on this motor. I saw somebody mention something about cutting the needle off? Any good tips for tuning with that needle?

My friend and I both ran our Beta's this weekend . Jae 21 with CMB Nitro Pipe @ 8'' 60 % nitro, Road Runner 21 , CMB Nitro pipe @ 8" 60% nitro. Both boats ran in the low to mid 60s with 1445, H6, H7, 1815 and S15. There's lots more room for more speed, but our goal is heat racing and the finish. Have fun.

I like your thinking. 0 DNF's = WOOD.

David,

Since you are using a 3rd channel, remove the low speed needle and cut off the tip back to the shoulder. Make sure there are no burrs and install it back. Ensure it is well seated so the o rings seal it properly. All needle settings will be through the 3rd channel from then on. Low speed needle is not needed.
