Thomas,

I would take a little cup out of a X-447/3 if it is subsurface.

Surface drive X-450/3 should work very well with some of the cup removed also.

You need to get rid of the trailing edge cup on a stock propeller so you can get the

motor to rev a little higher. Possibly shorten the pipe more also with less cup. Some

things to try in testing out at the lake.

Wouldn't this hull work better as a surface drive? Just wondering?

Thanks for the info guys and I have had both sub surface and surface drive boats I think they both work well

Thomas, Mark can share with you in private what we have found works VERY well on a sub-surface 40 Seadunker-

ABC - - -

Are you able to start it with the way that belt is ? Shorten the line between the tank needle/ needle carb and secure the needle.

Whats the pipe length and can we see a shot of the bottom that show the distance of the strut to the bottom ?

The older sub-surface boats, set up properly haul the mail Duck

Thomas,I ran this same Irwin Quiet Pipe on my old Twin Craft mono at 11 5/8" from the centerline of the engine to the weld spots on the pipe. I am running the same Picco .45 and pipe in my Sport 40 at the same length with good results. If you ever want to get rid of this pipe let me know!

I ran an X 450 2 blade on mine sucessfully for many seasons . Here is what I see in the photo :

1 - Need 3/16 drive dog strut clearance.

2 - Radius and smooth out the upper rudder blade near the top so it is not a water brake .

3 - Sand and smooth out the strut so there are no sharp ridges where the strut meets the brass tube .

4 move radioi away from rdge of table as it is sure to get knocked off !!!!!
