I would say a 45 sized rigger. The smaller engines can be a little difficult to tune. I have seen a few people frustrated that they cant get there 21 hydro running. Either dead or too fat.

I finally got my .45 Eagle SGX2 runnning like a finely tuned guitar. I have noticed that bigger engine sizes are less complicated, like mike says smaller are harder to tune. I love my 45 size boats.

Just remember with bigger size comes bigger speed and alot less time for reaction and if you are new to riggers be prepaired my suggestion dont buy the most expensive boat. You will be tearing things up start off with a used boat that is proven buy someone if possible that will take some of the headaches away

A .21 Novarossi 5-port with a bone stock carb and 25% - 40% nitro is easy to tune. Run it on a Zippkit rigger with a Zippkit prop and you will be in the water running fast. Buy a stock new motor, not a used mod motor.

+1 you can go slow, and then work up to fast without changing anything but prop and needle setting.

A JAE with a F/E P/Limited set up is a great rigger for low cost 60 mph fun, they run like water born slot cars.

I would suggest a JAE .12 with an OS .18 engine as an excellent entry level rigger.most of my custommers loved this combo that is just fast (+50mph) to get involved with this class. My Jae .45 with a Picco .45 hits easily 90mph definitely not an entry level boat

Exactly! A JAE .21 with a STOCK .21 Go or NR engine, cooper S pipe and a 1450 prop. Very easy to get to hit 60mph without even trying.

Luca this is not a set up for race obviusly but I can run it in the low 80's for heat race....I'm editing the video and soon it will be posted.

Thanks

I second Lights the Go Engine is a very good engine for the price and will surprise most of you in Jae .21.

For the Stock .21 Go, would that be the air-cooled or water-cooled version? Would it be the 3, 5, or 7 port version? Pro or Sport version? Any suggested suppliers? About what price are they selling at? Thanks!

I've been running the 7 ports engine(not really sttock) for about two months and the only important advise is to take patiently your time during its break in...man this is a tight engine.Once its ready for race remove head shims and you will be surprised with the high torque and rpms delivered.I'm turning a 1450 (46mm cup 3,4) effortetlessly in a JAE.

Gill,

Bump that propeller up to 47mm or 48mm and see what happens.

Remember a bigger blade throws more water. I have some running

51mm on a 21-JAE, but they have a lot of motor to pull them. So you

like the 7-port the best?

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

That would be the 7 port Pro engine right out of the box nimus the head shims.

Mark
Would that be air cooled or water cooled?

I just did a Google search on Go Pro 7 port, and did not see any suppliers of this engine.

So, who sells these?

Thanks!

Mark for awhile I'm quite impressed with the 7 ports...its running strong against NR and CMB .1450(full blade 3,3 is the best I could get from the Go with my carbon pipe. Dschigoda go to the manufactures and see Leyde Racing... Mark (lights) he's distributor of Go engines in USA.
