Just a short note to let all those people that told us they were coming to our Australian Nationals at Christmas know, seat availability on flights at that time of year seems to be filling fast so may I suggest you make your bookings as soon as possible - like now.

You would not want to miss out and be one of those sad souls sitting the snow instead of on one of our famous beaches with all those beatuiful girls sunbaking topless and/or nude. Believe me, it does happen!

If anyone needs any help or info, please let me know and I will help out wherever I can. Just bear in mind, I am broke after spending all my money in the US so I am afraid I am unable to financially assist anyone.

Hi guys. The Nationals this year are being held on the Gold Coast in Queensland - It's the only way I could guarantee that Greg, Sue and Justin Hill would come. They love it up there.

After doing some wheeling and dealing with Lenny Blake, I have had to promise he and LeAnn that our Nationals next year would be at the Olympic regatta centre in Sydney for them to agree to come. Next year could be a big one too.

See you on the Gold Coast in December. Ho, Ho, Ho and no snow.

Man for me to fly down their it would cost about $3500 to $3900 roundtrip if I preboob the tickets now......Bummer, one of these days I'll get down under. I could see my wifes' and 6 kids facial expression when I told them........"Guess what I'll be gone for Christmas to go race boats."

Bill A,

Is the 2005 Nationals in Sydney going to be at Christmas or at another time of the year?

Rodney,

it was submitted and passed by the AMPBA members to change the dates the Nat's are held on to get it away from Christmas time. Unfortunately that doesn't include the Nat's this year. Hopefully it will happen so those of us with families don't have to miss out on either boats or family.

Just out of curiousity - how many people out there are put off travelling down here for a nationals because of it being held at Christmas?

Christmas always costs me an extra $700 minimum over and above normal travel and accommodation expenses because of the gigs I lose (NYE alone is always worth over $500 to me alone) So I dont mind it being moved, but really it has to happen in January if not over christmas. No other time would suit enough Australian boaters and having Nats over Easter is asking for trouble with weather.

I believe the 'Nats away from Christmas' ruling was overturned at the last AGM????

Roo Land is messed up though... the think its summer when its really winter... what are they thinking? I could possibly non rev there, but i think in the winter the flights ae packed. I dont think id ever get serious enough to fly like 18 hours to race boats! Maybe :p
