I wanted to ask any of the District 9 members or anyone else perhaps that is feeling gererous to help out for a good cause.
There is a club member that I'd like to help get a repalcememt boat since he honestly can't afford it. His name is Dan Corbett, Dan lives on the tightest budget, government assistance and doesn't have the money needed to help support the r/c racing that is needed. I was with him at the pond Sunday and it was dismal to see his frustration and aggrivation come from a boat that should have been buried years ago. Basically, the servos are dead, the boat has been patched, taped, glued and reglued countless times and needs to be retired.
Many of you who know Dan know that he lost his lady friend this year and this would be a real moral boost for the poor guy.
There is a boater on this board that has offered me a used Lee Craft complete w/servos, tanks, etc........basically it comes with everything but a motor, all Dan would need to do is bolt on his motor and race. If he wants to post his name that's fine, I won't because I don't know if he wants to stay anonymous or not?
The cost including shiping to me would be $145. I myself don't have an extra $145 to buy the boat outright myself but can contribute $20-$25 bucks to the cause maybe even more if I don't get enough donations. What I need to know if anyone in District 9 who races or knows Dan could donate $2 to $3 dollars each. That's about what you'd spend one time at Starbucks. If anyone else could help that would be great, even if it's a buc, $1 etc........
If you can help you can Paypal me at: [email protected]
or if you'd like, this Saturday at the races please give your donation to Alfred Lanza or drectly to me at the races this Sunday.
I don't have the expectations that everyone or anyone is going to donate. I just strongly feel this is for a really, really good cause!
Thanks,
Rodney Guerrero
