Not trying to do a review on an OOP boat, but I got one for Christmas along with a Miss Seattle so I could run something electric whilst I start working on my Whip, so I thought id share......!

I didn't get any pics yet...DARNIT!

3 observations...

1- Its clearly faster than I thought it would be right out of the box!

2- It handles and turns better than I thought it would right out of the box

3- Its a bear to get up on step unless you heave it..BUT, after tryin some stuff, I found that with the right timing with the throttle, a blip-diddy diddy, then NAIL IT worked almost everytime!

The thing is REALLY FUN to run, even on 800mah/30C lipos, as I didn't have any 1000s....I wonder how it would run on 1000mah/50C packs? Id love to see some props made for these types of boats as I did notice that as good as it ran, it just sounded like it was on the edge of being overpropped, even with a fresh pack....

Grim has some Tweaks that can be done to the boat, including a different bullet...after I get a few more runs on it, might have to start tweakin!

I haven't run anything in 2 years, and one thing that was kinda weird was....just dry the boat out, little oil, YER DONE!..Ummm I could get used to that!

I see myself getting hooked on FE Hydros, theres no doubt about it! I still love Nitro though....don't think that will ever change......I think!

Oh and the best part was how good it felt to run a boat..any boat again....ESPECIALLY a HYDRO!

Nice Bill! Glad you like the nice, clean and easy side of FE!

Just to let you know...The difference between an 800 mah pack and a 1000 mah pack would be just a bit more runtime with the 1000. If you were switching from say, a 2S (2 cell pack) to a 3S (3 cell pack) that is where you would notice a difference in performance... ; )

Hey Mike is the Miss Seattle hydroplane worth the extra cost?trying to get some guys in district 14 to pony up some money....thanks

WHAT IS BETTER A 2 CELL OR A 3CELL PACK

WHAT IS BETTER A 2 CELL OR A 3CELL PACK

A 3 cell pack is going to make a boat run faster since it's 11.1V compared to 7.4V. Last summer I was going to let spectators run my Gun Slinger and thought installing a 2 cell pack would slow the boat down at full throttle. Well, the ESC's low voltage cut off is something like 8 or 9 V and it took me a while to figure out why the boat wouldn't run.

Not sure what the system is on the seattle...The UL-1 will allow you to run a 4S pack...or. 2 -2S packs in series (wired together to make 4S

Just looked at the Seattle ' s system...definitely run a 3S pack...like JR said...I would think that the LV would have kicked in on the 2S pack...you should see a big difference running a 3S pack...I would not use a 4S pack with that 30 a esc...just to let you know...

I haven't done the hop ups yet....but you can bet im gonna after watching the video..VERY impressive!!

Ill probably run it box stock a few more times..do you suggest doing the same hop ups to the M.S. as well?

Kent, just glancing at my Miss Seattle, it looks like the same power package which uses 3s, and thanks for the input, and YEP, I definitely LIKE FE!!

:).....MUST DO MORE AND GO FASTER!

The GP-1, Mini Mono and new Miss Seattle can only be used on 3S. (at least with the stock controller).

The GP one is my favorite. The mini mono a second and the Miss Seattle the 3rd. The Miss Seattle is a bear to get to run well. I have H O U R S on that boat and never got 100% happy with the performance. (Albeit I want it all).

It shares the same bottom as the GP-1 BUT has the opening for the front canard. The GP-1 will fit more battery then the Seattle as well.

With tweaks to the GP-1 30MPH is doable and with GREAT handling.. The fin "could" stand to be a tick larger at those speeds but a quick blip on the throttle to set the boat and its good to go.

Note to those that have the boat..

Get the blue prop

Get a few extra turn fins and sharpen, bend and what not to your liking. (they are Stainless Steel)

I maidened the Miss Seattle today and to my surprise, its at least as fast as the GP-1, if not a tic faster, as not only does it get on step EASILY, you can hear the prop unloading as the boat speed increases! I was going to swap props on the boats, but I ran out of time.

The MS turns and handles decent, The GP-1 does both BETTER! Especially after I tweaked the turn fin ,per Grim....DEFINATLEY made a big difference! I did the same tweak to the MS, but didn't get to try it.....

To me, they are both fast, fun boats, as I still am impressed with the speed they carry for what they are....I had a BLAST with both of em today!

is there any way to get the vibration out of the driveline after it sits for a while? mines buzzes up something fierce

GP-1 is buzzing? Not easy to do with that wire drive.

Remove the wire and check for straightness. Bend as needed and re-install..

Should be good to go

Grim

thanks grim i'll check. if i remember where it goes in the stub was a little crooked. are the shafts available separately?
