Ya Scott mainly on tuesday nights after work and on saturday afternoons. Walt and randy are there most of the time and few other guys are stopping by. I'm in that second group of just stopping by. I'm planning on being there tommorrow night. Stop by I would like to meet you in person. John

Scott, I plan on being there next Tuesday for sure with a couple of boats. I don't know what time that Walt and Randy show up but I'm thinking of getting there somewhat early. I sure don't want to have to deal with rush hour on 28th Street and even worse with them doing construction right by the US-131 off-ramp!

This Saturday I'm planning on hitting the full-sized boat races in Constantine otherwise I'd head up that way.

Hey Scott,

We've been running there for a while now.

We make it a point to be there every Tuesday eve about 6:30, or when Randy gets out of work, and Saturdays from about 2 on...... Buoys out, john boat there for members.

Ron,

LMK what time you're planning on next week Tuesday and I'll meet you there. After this week, I'm on vacation for 2 WEEKS!!!.

I haven't had 2 weeks off in a row in 20 years. I'll be living at the pond.

John,

See ya later. Hope that Bud Scales ready to make some laps.

I'm thinking of trying for about my usual time, the noon to one area.

The wife wasn't too happy with me after my last trip up there as I was supposed to be home in plenty of time to watch the race at Daytona. She was more irate when I had my cell phone on ring instead of vibrate so I didn't hear it with the stereo cranked up cruising down the highway. Too bad, I'm like her when she's out with the girls. She doesn't know when to come home either!

Ron,

That'll work for me too.

Did you get your Cat together yet?

The Cat will hit the water for the first time on Tuesday. It could now but I've got a few parts ordered from 2 people that are both shipping out today. That's another reason why I want to get up there early.

Great,

If you need me to bring any parts or anything else, LMK

I'm hoping to have everything. Let Randy know that I've got those Irwin tanks already loaded in the toolbox.

Maybe I should bring the big Channel-locks? (inside joke.)

I have some relatives in the Grand Rapids area. Can you provide an address for this pond? I bet if I could lure my relatives to this pond and provide some insight into the R/C world, they may become new boaters..... Thanks for the help!

Any racing schedules, info regarding the local district, etc, would be helpful.

Sincerely,

David Jensen

Hi David,

Our pond is on Sanford ave in Wyoming. It's actually Sanford Lake. It's just off 28th street, a few blocks away from I-196, at the base of the Chicago drive overpass is Sanford ave. Parking is in the Battle front R/C lot. Your relatives might know the place as the old Dry Land Marina building

No real racing schedule yet, The Southwest Mi Model Boat club is only a handfull of weeks old and growing. There's always a small group tuesday eve and late afternoon/eve on saturdays.Plus when ever anyone wants to run. The pond is dedicated just for our boats

It is also an IMPBA insured pond, so membership is required to run.

Tell them to stop on by and check it out.

From the way that I roll in, it's 4.1 miles west of US-131. Look for the Battlefront RC and Gaming sign at Sanford Drive.

Stopped by the pond Sat evening and meet Waltr face to face . Nice to meet you sorry I left like I did but was having a hard time standing there.

Being that I walk on artifical legs this is not a place for me to run . To bad they wont let them get down there with a Bobcat and level it out some

I know the problems that you had at Spring Valley Park Scott and this place is worse for those with bad legs. My knees are going on me thanks to my job and I'm in rough shape there after a day of climbing up and down the hill.

Yes, it doesn't help that we can't take a Bobcat to the site to tier it. You know that I'd have too much fun doing that as I do have a Bobcat endorsement from work. Grand Rapids Gravel and from what I've been told the DEQ says that we have to leave the site as-is, we can't even take out stumps.
