Hey Guy's,

All of us down here in the south have been running this type of set-up for over 5 years now, Earnie Lefleur (Lone Star Model Boat Club) has had a kit to convert the CMB 40 Evolution motors to the K & B and Lawless lower unit's for several years. All of the guys around here have been running them on Aerotech hulls with great results.

Awesome! We've seen a couple of Lefleur setups pop up out here, most notably at the Nationals. They were struggling a bit to get speed, and were breaking cables. I also know they were struggling with setup and what props to use. Not sure how much of that is the difference between the lawless type setup and the K&B, but they were running mid 50's. Out here most good .45 Mods run from 58 to the mid 60's.

Can you pass along information on how we can get just the Lefleur adapter setup? I already have two CMB EVO's that I have also been running for almost five years. Wouldn[t mind trying that setup against the one that I currently have just to compare and, perhaps, help others understand how to make it work out here.

I just picked up an Irwin CMB outboard a week ago. Never run yet. Where is a good starting point for a prop. Will be running it on a Lee Craft or Dunlap wood over foam. Both boats sitting their I just need to pick which one gets the new iron. Thanks Bill

I would suggest a prop that you may normally use on a .67 Outboard. Pitch, cutback, blade shape really depends on what your boat likes.

Sorry, I can't really speak to what's been done to mine, but I can say that it was after it was received from Irwin.

Hey guys feel free to start a new post.......

Osracer, must be nice to have a LeeCraft and a WOF sitting around waiting to be used. What type of lower end are you going to use and which motor mount are you using on it??

Hi guys. In answer to a couple of questions. The set up is Irwin all the way with the Lawless foot. I bought it at the Nats from a guy that has had it for awhile and never used it. I had been using an H7 on a Rossi on the Lee Craft. Not a bad combo but I couldn't resist the CMB or the price I paid. I also picked up the WOF that is in great shape for a very good price. I will get back down to one again eventually. Jim thanks for the info on the prop. I know I will need to do some tuning but it is great to have a starting point. Thanks again. Bill

;) HEY NORM: IKNOW EVERY ONE OUT THERE THINKS THEY NEED A GOOD MOD TO GO FAST ? WHY DONT THEY TRY TO IMPROVE THERE SET UP INSTED , ON THE CMB PURPLE HEAD , YES YOU CAN MAKE AN INPROVEMENT BY A SLIGHT MOD.? WE HAVE NOT FOUND IT NOT TO BE NECERARY, ALL WE DO IS HEAD WORK ALITTLE DISK WORK AND THEN SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON SET UP .. HELL THIS MOTOR HAS MORE POWER AND RPM THAN WE CAN USE . RIGHT CRISS.

GOD BLESS

HEY SOME ONE UP THERE WAS ASKING ABOUT A SET UP FOR THE K&B LOWER UNIT ? OURS WILL ADAPT TO ONE IF YOU NEED TO . WE HAVE PARTS / PARTS AND MORE PARTS , 1-765-747-4192 GOD BLESS

Quite true Jim. There is a fine line of compromise in there where you need to give the boat the amount of prop it needs and having too much prop for the boat when you have it right. I will tell you that I've see a few people run both setups and, thought they turn a bunch of RPM the boat doesn't go anywhere. Reason? Typically it's because they are running props they are used to running on a .45 Mod, like 1450, H-7, etc.

 thanks jim for your reply just one other question i have one of your older style pipes on this boat with a stinger inserted, can you give me a good length to set the pipe at? also i have one of your fisrt version quite pipes(that i'm not using it on the boat now) how do you think the boat will run with that pipe on it and what length should it be at to run the x548 prop?

regards
