Heard last night on the drive back from SOWEGA that Dick and Mike pushed the P-Tunnel Record to 68.8. I think its gonna start to be a tough uphill climb from here on out.

Congrats to you guys! Got my work cut out for me now!

Well as far as the weather goes in a word it SUCKED! I think this was one of if not the worst conditions as far as wind goes that I've seen at E-City for a SAW event. I got so discouraged that I didn't even bother pulling anything out of the trailer. Sunday afternoon there was a "peppering" of somewhat calmer water in which 2 records were set-

Jerry Crowther - D mono - 2.758 seconds 81.581 mph

Dick Loeb/Mike Luszcz P o/b tunnel 3.261 seconds 68.990 mph

I can say for sure there is more left in that P tunnel and had they had better conditions that record would have been in the 70's no problem. I felt bad for Terry Keeley coming all the way from Canada to watch the wind blow but we all still managed to have a good time and at least we ate well each night. Was fun to sit and jaw with Scott Liddycoat who was there with us, he drives the U-5 Valken Unlimited and will be racing with us in D12 when he can in 2012. Let's hope mother nature cuts us some slack for our April event.

Lol, I like the use of the word "peppering of calm water." I think any time a boat was touched, the wind would pick up 5mph. There were a lot of record breaking passes from Kentley's riggers, but backing them up just didn't happen with the water. To anyone that has not had the joy of hearing Kentley or Jerry's engines, get yourself there and experience it for yourself. These guys are at the top of the game!

Tough day, but man did the tunnel scream. Jimmy Johnson had the propellers to make it happen, and Torkit Hyperion batteries got us there. It had a fast pass of 71.29mph and I was hoping to get enough good water to see that both ways. That pass got Dick in the 70mph tunnel club! I have a million thoughts in my head right now of another tunnel design to get over 75mph or more. Bill, your right tho, the conditions have to be perfect with these speeds. Its gonna be little chops here and there for this class. 5 days in April is gonna be great!

Mike... If a TS-3 can do it, I'm sure you can come up with something that can as well... B) (There isn't a "thumbs-up" encouragement style icon, so just not that I'm giving you a big thumbs up right now! :) )

Sorry the weather wasn't ideal for you guys... Maybe you should all plan on coming out to LA next spring, or next fall, for a killer 3-day SAW, with great weather almost a certainty!

That would be awesome!

Thanks Darin. I think we can make something happen! If I could afford going to LA, it would. Tough to do with ours an hour and fifty minutes away! Mike

Just got home, put 3110 km (1928 mi) on my car since I left Thurs. Nice meeting old friends again, especially John Finch who I haven't seen since '97, and good to finally meet Kentley & Preston and many other good D12 folks.

Looked at the weather today and it was perfect, no wind and fantastic air, oh well. As 'ol Joe Ingrao used to say, "it ain't as easy as it looks".

I was very impressed how well John's gas rigger ran in the chop making several 100+ passes, as well as Kentley running 90+ one way with his .12 boat and a stout 104.7 mph pass with the 20. Jerry's Seaducer's are just insane! I can only imagine what will happen when the conditions are right.

Thanks ODMBA, I had a good time just the same. :)

ps: made a trip to Kitty Hawk which is only 45 mins away, very cool...
