Lots of interesting things in this picture ..
Starters appear mounted upright to a base?
Large box mounted on legs with antenna,, an old kraft radio ? Reed type radio ?
The planes appear to be gliders?
Do they compete for heights? Time?
Maneuvers?
Looks like everyone has a retrieve bike...

My apologies for the picture quality because I only have a poor scan of the original that has been lost. The picture was taken 20 years ago deep in the underground vaults of the Reserve Bank of Australia (a Central Bank the same as your Federal Reserve) when a group of us were packing up and sending the bulk cash from our Brisbane office (which was closing) back to our Head Office. The "chair", "foot-stool" and pallets in the background are comprised of blocks of new $100 notes strapped in sections of 100 and packed in bundles of 1000 meaning $100,000 per brick. The "foot-stool" alone is worth 1.2 million.
The clown sitting on the pallet of 12.4 million Australian dollars (which we made to use for our drinks break) is me - I was the boss at the time but being a good boss I let all the staff have a similar commemorative photo of themselves.
