You guys may have seen the news that Electrolux is doing a global cost reduction to get back to a sustainable level in this economy. I work for electrolux. They told us that there are going to be layoffs. No one at in my department has let go yet.. supposed to be after the beginning of the year..

Hard to believe I worked away from home for a year, then moved my family 1/2 across the country and my be laid off 6 months later.

Never been a better reason to work harder, longer and smarter every day.. still it may not be enough..

Everybody work hard and appreciate your jobs... cause you might loose it if you don't.

Well I do have my health Friend.. I have 3 herniated disk that prevent physical labor,.. but yes, I have my health, both my boys and and my wife are healthy... so, .. in the big picture.. still blessed!

I remember a couple of years ago the Electrolux plant up by Grand Rapids shut down and now the one where you work. They'll probably end up by moving manufacturing operations overseas.

WEll they took Out Advanced Payment Paid by the local tax payers. Be interesting if they ever dig the first hole....... Our city leades will look stupid if they Dont?? Wont be the first time though.

I work at the NA headquarters. All business people, engineers, designers and marketing. No manufacturing. They are beginning to see the that making high end products in China is very difficult. Some manufacturing coming back to the states actually... but the brand name has suffered,.. and may not recover.. I may not be effected.. but I won't have a good nights sleep till I know..
