Alright, tonight I sanded the top deck flush. added the 1/8 x 1/8 basswood reinforcement and epoxied in the outer boom tube supports, engine and fuel cell well's. Also added the nose block and finished one of the sponsons. Pins are getting glued in as I type this.

alright she is coming together now. Last step is to cut the slit for the stuffing tube, bend it, attach it to the hull then epoxy the ski on. Then, one good seal cote of epoxy and its ready to start building servo mounts and linkages.

Total bare hull weight so far is 18.6 ounces. That includes the boom tubes, but no hardware. Also doesnt include the final seal cote of epoxy. Not sure if thats decent or not to be honest?

I agree Gil.My first Jae I sent to Mike Walker because of the intemadation factor. But now after looking and reading these post the next one I will do my self.Plus with you guys to call on like Rodney for help gives you confidence.JB

Looks good Rodney.

Are you using balsa for your nose blocks and what is the tub over all length if ya don't mind me asking .... not including the nose? Looks like ya might have a little anhedral / dihedral in your sponsons also?

Paul

Paul, no anhedral/dihedral on the sponsons, its just an illusion in the photo. They are completely flat.

Hard balsa on the sponson nose blocks, hardwood on the tub.

Overall length of the tub is 31.25 inches long from nose block to transom. Total overall boat length is 34.5" from tip of sponson (minus the tip blocks) to the end of the ski.

Dont mind the mess. I just pushed it all off to each side. LOL Total boat weight so far is 1.17 pounds.

as my wife says....don't worry with that mess its your workshop not my kitchen. :D looking fast! Gill

Look at that brick wall in the back ground! That's soooo 70's. You'd think there would be a Coyote sitting in front of it ;)

hahahaha, hammer, thanks for pointing that out. Talk about an ugly basement man!! House was built in 65. The opposing wall has paneling. Im right "up town" down there man!!! But it gets the job done! Ill get around to finishing it into a workshop.....someday......when I run out of boats to build. This could take a while :p

And thanks guys!!! Its got a pretty long aft plane, but that should really work to keep the prop hooked up a lot better in the race water. We shall see!!! Sponsons and bottom of tub are drying as we speak. Ill probably have this one together, with a total weight by the end of next week I would say.

I'm looking forward to seeing this run. Did you move the engine or CG at all? A wise man once told me that when you make the distance from the CG to the prop too long, it lightens up the rear and it's hard to keep the boat hooked up. The design lines on the boat are really popping with the added length.. Looks really cool!

Anthony. I attempted to scale everything up for a 1.5 inch addition both ways. So the CG of the hull should be very close to where we had it with your Rev2

Looks awesome big guy, can`t wait to see some video on the water, keep on keeping on.Yea I know who is this dumb ass that keeps popping up.JB

Sponsons and tub sealed with 2 coats of epoxy. Tub is final sanded and ready for clear or one more light coat of epoxy, havnt decided yet. And sponsons need sanding and color. BWAHAHAHA!! Then its time to buy the hardware, and rig this thing up.
