Hi gang.

I have shipped a LOT of packages over the years contaning RC boat parts, Boat hulls, radio gear, etc.

I have even experienced the type loss that appears to have occurred here in the For Sale section this past week (3.5 Lawless "Delivered", but never received).

Here is what I do to aviod that issue when shipping with USPS.

Regardless of the actual package value, if you put at least a minimum amount of insurance on the package, specifying that when you print the postage, then the delivery person is REQUIRED to get a signature when the package reaches it's destination.

With USPS, if you put a value of $50.00 or less, then the "insurance" doesn't cost additional. I generally do this for lesser parts. For entire boats, etc., I will put the replacement value and just pay the insurance costs, as it's worth it to me to do so.

However, even if you just put the minimum, they are still required to get a signature when they deliver it. Keeps them from just dropping it at the front door.

Hope this helps.

I shipped a small package with some Rc boat props in it. After about a week looking for the package UPS said they deliverd. He found the box inside the grille on the deck. Great Job UPS. Doug Shepherd Madison, In.

Oh that's nice....good thing he didn't fire up the grill without opening the top to let it warm up! Heat treated props.

My last delivery from USPS? I was standing in my garage with my back to the open door and the guy chucked it in from the street so he didn't have to get out of his vehicle...at least it was "delivered"...LOL!
