I may, just may, have finally talked my brother Chip into playing with an RC Boat. Keeping in mind he has been flying model airplanes since they took the diaper off him. He has flown at Top Gun for at least the last 8-10 years that I can remember in 1/4 Scale Pro-Am and always placed well- always WW2 vintage aircraft, and his attention to detail is amazing.

Without dragging the bs in, we didnt get along on that level for a long time, I got to thinking about it after talking to him after some time, and decided to let him have everything he needs to finish out the AVL 1/8th Scale I have had here needing finished. I dont know why , but feel like I needed to share that, my brother and I are trying to mend a broken fence after a long time, we always enjoyed RC ,but just not together. Im hoping , as it has been for me, that he will see the fun in what we do. It would be cool to hang out with my brother again on a level we both can enjoy. He knows Greg Hahn pretty well, so if I can get you to chime in and call him Greg  Maybe we can get Chip bitten by the bug, plus a scale boat would be right up his alley.

Thanks for the vent, needed it.......

All BS aside Andy, family first. Get him to join IW, we can break his shoes and get him going. Be happy to help with anything he needs. Hammer
Thanks Ray, Im gonna drop it off to him at Thanksgiving. I need a few pics of a side radio box set-up for a converted Dumas with the rear box ?

So he has an idea of what he is looking for.

Thanks , Andy

that's VERY good on your part, andy ;) !! family relations should be kept up, & mended, if need be. doesn't make a damn who steps up first, just doing it is the deal here.....as you know, i'm not a scale guy, but will gladly help any way i can. good luck & welcome him to this aspect of the rc hobby for me :) .

Thanks fella's , I kinda floated the idea around a little last time we talked and he had enough interest to make me want do it. He has no clue he is getting damn near everything to get it wet once he gets it to his liking. Im sure I could ask on the Scale Forum, but how many different boats can be made from that Dumas #1321 kit ? Right now its done as the 83 Atlas U-1 vented picklefork cab-over. Wanna give him all the options should he decide to change scheme's.

When I get by his house on Turkey day , I will shoot some shots of his 1/4 Scale F-7 Tigercat , the detail is amazing- Blind and exposed rivets (thousands and thousands) every panel that exsisted on the aircraft he copied- ect. ect .ect

Put a transmitter in his hand to run one of your boats. Hooked, reel him in. :p

I could see it in his eye I hope Ray .....

I have him talked into coming out to the WinterNats to watch and check out the Scales there. He is old school pilot- dead set on running a stick radio, all good but-Unless I hit Marty or Gene up  all my stuff is wheel and he wont even try it.

Stubborn old school bastage  :p :p

I resized the other pics btw.

Top Gun 2009 - Fresh off the bench - maybe ten flights .......
