It's looking better now Tony as I just came up from painting on some epoxy. The tub is framed up and the sponson sides with dowels and sponson tubes are now getting stuck in place.

As far as manuals go, there are a lot of differences between the 2 kits but a lot alike at the same time. I did have to go through the manual a couple of times to see if any parts were missing as some parts were modified from the .12 kits. The front sponson doublers (2 on each side in the .12) to only one per side and the motor mount is completely different. Builders of both kits will also find the radio box area with some changes that appear to have been made for more strength.

Thanks for the link to the JAG.12g manual, but that really does not do me any good when I have a JAG.12g hard copy manual and the kit itself sitting about 6ft away from me on the work bench...

Ron, thanks for the photos, they don't show a whole lot, but are better than nothing.

Do a search then, there are plenty of JAE 12 photos on this forum and others.

Be patient, Ron will have more photos. He just got the kit.

Yes, there are plenty of JAE 12 photos here and elsewhere on the web, but there are no JAE 21 photos, especially since the kit did not exist until now.

what exactly are you looking for, its the same as the 12g just bigger

I know very little about the jae boats, I dont think many people have the .21 size boats. The boat was really in test stages as far as i knew this year. Now you are starting to see the jae .21 kits getting ready to be built for the next race season. Here is a pic of I think the .12 .21 and .45 jae boats.

Ohhhh I am sorry, I am not sure what version these boats are. Like I said they have as far as i know been in the more or less test stages .

Now you have a picture.......This is the prototype of the JAE.21G2 that Truex tested.

This is the prototype boat I built directly from the published plans.

These plans are available to anyone that wants to download them from

the Zippkits website or the ne-stuff website of Niklas Edlund.

This "prototype" JAE.21G2 is going to be auctioned off through the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation in the next couple of weeks and 100% of the money will be donated to the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation to help children in need.

The boat is complete except for a starting belt, receiver and battery.

The prototype has a Novarossi .21 LS,Hi-tec servos,all hardware and a 3rd channel needle and a 70+ mph prop.

I will start a separate thread when the boat is ready to be auctioned showing the link to the Truex Foundation and how to bid on the boat if you are interested.

I will list all the details about the boat at that time.

I want to personally thank David Hall,Martin Truex Jr,Ron Zaker Jr and Al Hobbs for donating all the pieces to complete this prototype boat.

Geez Cheese, that shot looks familiar! :D I took that right after Rod put the decals on. He can slap a decal on straighter than I've ever seen anybody do and the boats never left their stands.

For those wanting more pix, I've have to take some more as I progress. Pardon my mess as I'm using an old dining room table to build them on. The workbench is full with other boats (not to mention shelves and other tables). Let's just say that my wife will be happy when swap meet season starts as I promised that I'd unload a few. :(

OK, got one more shot. What you see here mostly are the sponsons with a .12 thrown in there for comparison.

Thanks for the photos guys!

I probably should have specified, I wanted to see how the boat goes together, not necessarily photos of the completed boat. Now that the manual is online I have my fix for seeing what it is made of. There are quite a bit of differences from the .12 version to the .21 version.

If I ever finish my JAE12g, I will likely want to build a .21 next.

Back to John Knight for a minute. I hit one of the LHS's (We've got 3 now, a Hobbytown USA just opened up) today and they have some Traxxas servos that are advertised as being waterproof. Even their mini appears ot have enough torque but relatively slow as .20 seconds for 60 degree travel but they don't say if that's on 4.8 or 6 volts plus not a lot of info in their site. I kind of doubt that it's a metal gear either at just under $28.00.

I have a pair of Traxxas waterproof servos in my BlackJack 26. They work great, but from what I have read they draw a lot of current and lower battery life. This may not be an issue for a lot of people though.

OK, I've been a little slow in updating my progress. I took today off from work so that I could try to get some of what's left of my sanity back and to work on the boats.

The tub and the right sponson have been sealed, drying right now.

I came pu with another little something while trying to match the sponson tips. I found out that disposable ink pens like Bic and Write Bros. fit right into the boom tube holes! This way I matched up the tips so that they would be the same.

Hey Rod did this happen yet? I haven't seen anything on Martin's site or did I miss it?
